An Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, a member of Senate of University of Maiduguri and a Consultant Pharmacist in Teaching Hospital of the University. Obtained first, second and doctoral degree in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Along with four others, initiated the establishment of Faculty of Pharmacy in University of Maiduguri in 2005. Had been the Head of Department of Ethno-Pharmacy and Drug Development and the Head of Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and also presently the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy in the University of Maiduguri. Had more than 17 years of experience in teaching students of pharmacy, medicine, nursing, physiotherapy and health records, during which 4 research grants were earned. Areas taught included pharmacology, therapeutics, toxicology, ethno-pharmacology and ethics of biomedical researches involving human. Had been on sabbatical leave in Faculty of Medicine of Bayero University Kano, Nigeria and also an External Examiner to scholarly works of pharmacology in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria and Bayero University Kano. A Fellow of the West African Post-Graduate College of Pharmacists. Has theoretical and practical knowledge in health planning and management. Had more than two decades of experience in management and provision of pharmaceutical services in a tertiary health care institution and in foreign mission of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Had more than 40 academic publications in both local and international journals. Had attended numerous local and international conferences and workshops, the most recent being the 5th TReND Summer School on Neuro-science and Drosophila Neuro-genetics (August – September 2015).
